# Orders outside the European Union: VAT, taxes and customs duties

When you place an order on our website with a delivery address located outside the European Union, specific rules apply. We would like to explain them as clearly and transparently as possible.

### **Tax-free billing (excluding VAT)**


For all orders shipped outside the European Union, prices displayed on our website are **charged excluding taxes**:

* French VAT is **not applied**
* The total amount of your cart is **automatically recalculated** once a non-EU delivery address is entered


### **Taxes and customs duties upon delivery**


When your order is imported into the destination country, it may be subject to:

* local VAT
* customs duties
* possible customs clearance or handling fees charged by the carrier

These charges are **required by local authorities** and are **not collected by Maison Empereur**. They are generally requested by the carrier at the time of delivery.
